The doc prescribed me Zofran for nausea and vomitting. This is good and it seems to be working a lot better than the Reglan with fewer side effects.

However, it $2.22 a pill. And I am supposed to take three a day. Ouch!

Now, I am happy to pay for some relief, but that is one expensive drug. There would have been times in the past that close to $50 a week for a drug would have been impossible for me to finance and I sure it is for many people. Sucks that the drug that works the best is charged a premium.

Yup. Happy for the insurance. There is a part of me that is unsuprised that this drug costs so much as it is the one used for chemo-related nausea. Charge the most to those who need it the most, right?

The whole medical/drug delivery system in this country just sucks. But the good news that you found something that works is just wonderful. Happy Eating!

Yes, it does suck. But so far this is working which is very, very good.

Huh. The cost has gone down considerably. When my sister had to take it (to combat side effects of chemotherapy), it was closer to $8 or $10 per pill.

I'm glad that it's helping you, she says it really is a wonder drug for such things. And I agree, it does suck that the drugs that work the best are $$$$$$$$.

For all the good they might do, big drug companies are at least partially evil. They make choices based on profit, not always a bad thing to do. Only, I'm not sure that when they know it can be done cheaper that they let cheaper, or even choice, happen.
