One year ago we were on our honeymoon in Seward, Alaska. It was an incredible trip and not just because it was our honeymoon (though that did make it extra-special). On this day a year ago we both saw our first glacier--Exit Glacier in Seward. We'd see many more by trip's end. We also caught our first glimpses of fireweed and had already seen our first moose while driving out of Anchorage on our way to Seward. During our trip we'd see and experience lots more wildlife in the wild such as otters, Dall's porpoise, Steller sea lions, humpback whales and marmots.

The vastness and enormity of Alaska is amazing, viewed from the air, from land and from the water. The landscape is incredible as is the vegetation--I remain fascinated by the blue poppies.

So, yeah, just thinking of our trip and how fun and amazing it was. And damn did I love all that daylight!.
