...how much MS Access and MS Excel can suck incredibly hard, and not in a good way?

Is it really necessary for them to crash after every other operation?

It doesn't help that I am bitter because I am having to re-do a bunch of work as a result of another party's mistake, but damn, these programs bite!

Well, Access is the real offender in this case. I have discovered many of its random memory limits (which I had previsouly discovered in Excel at my former job) which means a lot of things I have to do in pieces. Bleah. It also randomly crashes on average, about 6-8 times a day while I am using it. Double Bleah.

I haven't been pushing Excel's limits, but once Access fucks a file up, Excel can no longer deal with it either, so then I have to re-do work. Triple Bleah.

On the whole, Access is a much shittier program than Excel. I have used Excel extensivesly and have found far fewer problems with it than I have found with Access. Sadly, Access is the only database program I have available to me to do the crap I need to do (well, I _could_ do it manually, but that is just not going to happen), so I am stuck using it. Fortunately, I am nearing completion of the Access/Excel leg of this project (for now)
