...that I really do not sit still well.

OK, so I moslty knew this already (most of you are probably saying "Duh!"), but I had a meeting this morning where I was mostly just a passive participant and I found myself fidgeting, squirming, readjusting, etc., almost constantly. I do OK in my cube all day because I can fidget, get up and down, swivel in my chair, etc. all day and not have it visible to most. The guy who sits across from me is even squirmier than me, so we don't bother each other. Anyhow, I was having a very difficult time sitting through the meeting this morning. I wanted to either leave or go to sleep.

Fortunately for me I can usually fall asleep at will (a result of my medications and an already existing need for much sleep), so I sleep through long flights or car rides. If I couldn't sleep through them I think I would go crazy.

I remember one time when I was about five I was on a relatively long car trip with my grandparents and my grandmother offered me a quarter if I would take a nap. I think I was a bit hyper ;-P Not too suprisingly, I can't have a lot of caffeine. My high school swim coach once asked me if my parents placed me on the swim team when I was a kid in an effort to displace my energy. He ashed this after someone made the observation that even when we were resting between sets in practice (in the water) I was still fidgeting and moving constantly.

I'm bored and work is not intriguing me today

Overall, I have to carve out some time to work on school crap. Other than that I just have rehersal in the city tomorrow afternoon and a tap performance Sunday afternoon in Los Gatos. Oh, and hang out with my kitty, of course :-)

I find that it helps me sit still through long meetings if I sketch in my notebook. Or doodle, for the less artistically-confident. At least my hand is moving. I have to switch off the subject I'm sketching though, or people think I'm staring at them.
