Last night I made a really tasty stir-fry for dinner.

First I satueed fresh garlic then added chopped up spring green onions, fresh shitake mushrooms, fresh zuchinni, and some frozen mixed bell pepper chunks from Trader Joes. Then I added some Soy Vay Chinese Marinade and cooked it until the veggies were just tender. Then I added some chopped-up cooked Morningstar Veggie Buffalo Wings and cooked brown rice. I cooked it all for several minutes more and then served.

It was quite tasty. The breaded and spicy nature of the fake chicken nuggets with the sauce gave it a sweet 'n' sour/king pao feel/flavor. The vegetables were all rather tasty and the sauce complimented them well. It was the first time I tried the fake nuggets in a stir fry and I am quite happy with the results. We also had tasty salads of red romaine lettuce and baby spianch. [livejournal.com profile] catzen had european cucumber in his salad (I am not the hugest cuke fan) and he made a miso dressing for himself.

hmmm...I am very hungry now.

Time for lunch!

Part of me wants to say, "Well, you haven't seen what I can do with cukes," but I won't.

Instead, I'd suggest you try Cha Am in Berkeley, some day, for Michael's sake. In a few of their dishes, they toss in chunks of peeled cucumbers just a couple of minutes before everything's done, so they're hot but crunchy, with a delightful cooling effect in the whole dish.

But then, I really like cucumbers.

Those Morningstar Veggie Buffalo Wings really rock... I like them on their own. And with some sugared vinegar, peanut sauce, and some chopped cucumber, you can make a nice Thai satay with them.
