Photo of the day: When we were in Monterey around New Year's one of the places we visited was the Point Pinos Lighthouse in Pacific Grove which is both open as a historical attraction and is a working lighthouse. S. and I very much enjoyed poking around inside (Peter stayed in the car with a sleeping L...we did the Lighthouse after a few hours at Point Lobos) and found the narrow spiral staircase to be of interest. Here is shot of it, taken as I was looking down from the top.
