I know that my current state of perpetual soreness and pain is a result of so much time spent rehersing, but I am in a lot of pain and I would like it to go away. I haven't been able to get to sleep comfortably for over a week now as my shoulders and ankles and feet and back and neck and fingers ache. Alleve doesn't seem to be helping anymore and heat and/or soaking in hot water only provides temporary relief. Now, I am used to being somewhat sore most days. I have been involved in athletics long enough to be used to that. However, constant pain in my joints and mucles is a different story. Not being able to lie in bed comfortably is more than just a little irritating.

Feh.

I just felt like whining.

oh, sweetie. i know how much chronic pain sucks. i hope you get the rest and rejuvenation you need. have you tried adding epsom salts to your warm baths? if you do, make sure you rinse off well with cool/tepid water. if you can, try some gentle stretches before bed and after you awaken. get up from bed slowly, stretching as you go. just reach and roll--whatever comes naturally and painlessly.

*hugs* if you want them. i hope you feel better soon.

Have you thought about seeing a doctor? You seem to be describing a change in the duration of pain thats unusual for you. I hope you feel better soon.

Yeah, I know I need to get to the doctor. I think I definitely injured my shoulder a couple of weekends ago, and I need to have my knees checked out and the mystery lump in my back (which occured after a minor back injury--probably just torn muscle) checked out as well. I have been reluctant to start the whole mess with the doctors for a number of reasons, which is why I keep putting it off. However, I know that I need to get off my ass and get treated.

My reluctance stems from past experiences in getting diagnosed and treated. A couple of years ago I went through nearly a year of doctor's visits and uncomfortable tests before someone (a neurologist) finally figured out that my weekly puking was probably migraine-related. One doctor (my primary at the time) treated me as a hypochondriac and seemed mosty unphased that I was throwing-up (non-self-induced) at least once a week. About 10 years ago I have mystery lumps in my legs which were never diagnosed even after countless visits to doctors. A doctor later figured that they were pieces of tissue which had broken off during the high-impact exercise I was doing.

I am also reluctant to go to the doctor as I don't want to get hassled about my weight.

I also hate going to the doctor as I have spent much of the past 6 years sick (many sinus infections, severe flus, migraines, bronchitis, strep, etc.) and as a result have spent an inordinate amount of time at the doctor's office. This past year was the first year I remained relatively healthy and I have been very happy to avoid the doctor. But I know I need to go. I need someone who knows what zie is doing to check out my joints, and I possibly need x-rays.

Thanks for the well wishes.

I'm having trouble with doctors too. I remember a sign in a California hospital I was at. "They don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." Maybe that should be tattooed on doctor's foreheads so they remember that we are people and we hurt. I hope you feel better soon. Pain sucks.

Thanks sweetie :-)

And thanks again for coming to the show! It was great seeing you again, if all too briefly.
