  • A four hour rehersal is a bit much on the body when the dance I am rehersing is so physically challenging and acrobatic.


  • Sixteen hours of dance classes/rehersals in one week with no day off is too much.


  • I will be in pain after 10 consecutive days of intensive dance classes/rehersals and looking at 6 more days with no break is rather unpleasant, no matter how much I like to dance.



Ugh.

I am so incredibly sore it is actually difficult for me to sleep. I had a great private rehersal yersterday for my solo, but as it was just me dancing for the choreographer for 2 hours my body really got worked. I started the 4 hour group rehersal last night feeling OK, but after running the whole piece a number of times and both my solos a number of times I started to feel not so great. Not to mention that I landed funny on my shoulder/neck on one move, brusied both knees and the top of my foot doing another move, and strained my shoulder fairly badly doing a weird back-roll-into-push-up thing over and over--when my arms finally gave out after the umpteenth demo of said stunt I realized I needed to lay off the acro stuff during the last run-through of the piece. I actually hurt so badly I feel like crying. I think I got dehydrated as well and my tummy has been upset.

And yes, this is all my own fault and self-inflicted. I chose to do this show.

In other news, my mom called me tonight to inform me that my sister's boyfriend broke-up with her. Very sad. My sister had no idea this was coming and even already bought plane tickets to see her boyfriend in a couple of weeks (he lives in Florida, she in California). My sister was so upset she was told my mom she was driving to my parents to stay the night (about 100 miles from where she lives) and was calling in to work. I feel extremely badly for her, but I don't know how to help her or make things better for her. My mom is upset that her daughters keep getting hurt. She thinks we deserve much better than we have generally gotten. She is correct in that, but I at least have found the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] catzen.

Well, that is all for now. I need to go try to hydrate myself some more and get some more sleep.

Just read your post! I know you love to dance. I know this show is extremely important to you, but PLEASE take it easy sweetie! The last thing you need right now is to get really hurt. I have an idea. Since you strained yourself pretty bad yesterday, how about an hour at Watercourse Way? My treat? SOON! Either tonight after your dance class, or tomorrow after your dance class? If you must wait for Wednesday (your free night), how about then? I want you to feel better and you need some relaxation. I just don't want you to push yourself past your physical limits sweetie! Let me know if you want to go to Watercourse way, and I will make the arrangements immediately. The fastest way to reach me today would be my cell. Take it easy and get some rest today.. Ok? I love you..
