I messed up my right hamstring on Tuesday. I injured it back in 2002 after I dropped into my right side split while in a too-cold studio and no longer being properly warm. It has given my problems off an on since, but it is usually OK. This past Tuesday I injured it either by sprinting with the stroller while trying, unsuccessfully, to catch a bus, walking the three miles to the pool rather quickly after said unsuccessful sprint, or in my Tuesday night dance class while doing some sort of insane leg stretch/strengthening exercise. I know I aggravated it in the dance class, but I think the initial injury came earlier that day. Driving home that night it hurt a lot to push on the gas pedal. Not muscle soreness, but pain. I have tried really backing off on it (no strenuous walking, no yoga, no intense stretching, minimal dance) and it is improving. It is key that I do not worsen the muscle pull and/or cause a tear, but it is really, really, really hard for me to back off and not do any activity that will strain my hamstring. I am taking care though. I was unable to dance for over a year after my nasty foot injury of 2003 and I really do not want a repeat of that.

Injuries suck.

I'm with you on your opinion of injuries. If you have the time and the inclination, I'd be willing to come by and do some cryotherapy sports massage to see if we can get it to let go.
