As some of you may know, blues artist Candye Kane is battling a rare form on pancreatic cancer, in fact the same one Steve Jobs had. However, unlike Mr. Jobs Candye does not have billions of dollars nor does she have health insurance. In order to help her pay her medical bills, artists in the San Francisco fat, dance, music and burlesque communities are coming together for a benefit on Wednesday July 23rd, 2008 at 7pm at El Rio in San Francisco. All artists are performing Candye's music or have created pieces to be performed to her music. The Phat Fly Girls are opening the show at 8pm with an all new piece choreographed to Candye's "You Need a Great Big Woman." Come check it out...you might recognize some of the performer's names.
