one year ago, this minute
Aug. 23rd, 2007 08:14 pmOne year ago at 8:14pm our baby was pulled from my body with a vacuum through a six inch incision in my abdomen, twenty-six hours after my water broke, after twenty-six hours of labor, after fourteen hours of pitocin and after countless freak-outs by the hospital staff. He came out kicking and screaming weighing in at an impressive 9lbs 6oz and was 21 inches long. He breastfed for the first time in the OR recovery room about fifteen minutes later, before I was even able to physically hold him. Today at his one year doctor's visit he weighed 22lbs and was 30 inches long. He breastfed there as well.
He has forever changed our lives for the better, in ways we could have never imagined.
Happy Birthday Baby Fly! We love you.
A picture from his party on Sunday and of him opening a gift from us tonight.
