A major pet peeve of mine is when people set their cell phones to some cutesy-annoying ring, then leave their phones on at their deks while they are at lunch, in a meeing, or whatever, so the rest of us are tormented by the damn thing ringing that stupid-cutesy-annoying ring over, and over, and over again until we want to raid every cube in the vicinity, find the offending phone, and smash it to bits.

grrrrrr....Why are some people so damn inconsiderate??!!! Why does anyone think that the whole f**king office wants to hear a random cell phone ringing incessantly ???!!! For goddess sake, turn the damned thing off if you aren't going to be there to answer it.

Yes, I am feeling cranky today, why do you ask??

If I could find the damn thing I might :-)

but seriously, I am in a sea of cubes and I don't know everyone in my neighborhood (a chunk are allocated to random contractors), but I am pretty sure the phone belongs to someone I have never met as the noise doesn't appear to be coming from any of the cubes of people I actually work with.

so it goes...

You could answer, "Hello, Good Vibrations. Are you calling about the fisting workshop?"

Yes, Yes, Yes! Bustin' My Gut Baby!

Yeah, or you could just pick up and fake an orgasm. That might make for some interesting spousal discussion :-)

Am I the only one who sets my phone to vibrate-only ("silent") mode, so I *bring* it to my meetings (as I just did a few minutes ago). Then I can check the caller ID for any incoming call, and if it may be important (e.g. my sister) and the meeting is slow, I might leave to take the call (in the hallway). Otherwise, I know I have an important call to deal with afterwards, and might not linger as long talking to folx when the meeting breaks up. I use silent mode anywhere I don't want to annoy people, including movie theaters. Why don't people think about these things?
