cancer sucks take two

Just found out that a friend who is sick with cancer has transitioned to hospice care.

I knew it was coming, but somehow the reality of it was not something I was quite ready for.

I saw her today. On the plus side, she's lucid, which she wasn't the last time I saw her, so we had a good talk and friendly snuggle.

I don't really understand it all. My brain's just floating around, meters away from the reality of the situation, acting all faux-rational. And I may not have much time to figure it all out.

Glad you saw her and that she was lucid. I have stayed away for the past month because I was sick with a number of things, most recently pnemonia. I hope to get up to see her this coming week.

Sometimes I feel like I am rational about it all and sometimes not so much.

She has touched so many lives, I can't get my head around it either. I just sat and cried and cried when I heard. If you see her this week, please pass on a hug and love from me.

I can't get my head around it either. I really thought I was ready for it, but of course I'm not. I don't think we are ever really ready when something like this happens, especially when someone is so young.

Yes, unfortunately, most likely the same person. I'm so sorry to be the bearer of bad news. She has been getting worse and it has been quite bad for a few months and the chemo is no longer working at all and there is more new tumor growth and, well, here we are.
