Photo of the day for 08/07/13: Moving Bridge. Last summer we went to Lassen National Park then back through Sacramento to visit my sister and her family and to go to the railroad museum. As a super-treat, we stayed at he Embassy Suites on the Sacramento River...on the eighth floor. It was as surprise for S. who loves nothing more than hotels, and being on high floors of the hotel. I shot this looking our our hotel window as the bridge was being raised to allow for boats to pass underneath. The kids thought it was mind-blowing.

Photo of the day for 08/08/13: I captured this funny guy late last December at Ardenwood when all the squirrels are going bokners trying to eat and store as much food as they can. I have posted a similar picture before, but the facial expression here is more sly.

Photo of the day for 08/09/13: Birds! There are a lot of pigeons out at Ardenwood. They fly around en masse, often taking off and/or landing on the barn roof all at once. Here they are in one of their epic flight moments. I love how each bird's wings are in a slightly different position.
