Photo of the day for 03/21/13

Photo of the day: Bay Shore Crab. Last June, close to the end of the school year, I decided to take the kids up to Crab Cove in Alameda one Friday afternoon, mostly on a whim. They had a great time. L. wasn't too sure abou the mud and water, but S. thought it was all wonderfully delightful. We happened to get there at low tide so there were plenty of crabs to see....this made S. a very happy boy. I also was pleased to try to capture some shots of crabs and their crab lives and got a few decent shots. These crabs are quite small...only a few inches across...I used the 50mm fixed macro here. Super sunny conditions so sub-optimal, but still kind of a fun shot.
