Photo of the day: Leaves on Lava. Last July we took a vacation to the Lassen area. While we were staying near Lassen National Park and spent a lot of time there, we took a trip north through Lassen National Forest (and onto Burney Falls) one of the days we were there. One of the places we visited was the subway cave in Lassen National Forest which is a lava tube that you can walk through. The kids thought it was the best thing ever....it's a cave! TIt's dark! It's cold! We get to use flashlights! It was scorching hot outside, but inside the cave it was a cool 46. I shot this photo, of dried leaves on the lava rock, outside the cave where it was very, very hot.

Fun times

Just bought tickets to see the Trey Anastasio Band at the Fox Theater in April. Got reserved seats and everything. YES!
