Photo of the day for 1/28/13

Photo of the day for today: It's Monday so I figured a chicken portrait would be in order. I shot this in March of 2012 at Ardenwood. We were just out there with the kiddos and the chickens wander about during the day (they are put into their coops at night to keep them safe from the foxes). Just a chicken.

doing better

L. is doing better. He was very sick all last week with what we thought was the flu (fever, chills, shakes, and generally misery). After fussing with his ear and finally admitting that it hurt, I took him to urgent care on Thursday night and discovered that he had an ear infection. One ear drum was occluded due to wax (the ear he said hurt), but the other was infected and since he had a fever for so many days and was so sick we got the antibiotics. They have helped tremendously and he is doing better. Fever has been gone since the mold starting working. His hearing is still not 100%, but he is on the mend. It was a LONG week of everything being out of sorts, so his sleep schedule is really messed up. The good news is that it really seems it was not the flu so we are not in for a month of everyone getting the flu one after another.

Back to our regular activities this week (we hope), and working on getting L. enrolled in preschool (only two days a week for a couple of hours, but it will be good for him).
