coming out day
Oct. 11th, 2006 05:53 pmI'm bisexual.
I know this comes as no shock to most of you, but it is national coming out day so I figured I'd state it once again for the record.
I've know I was bi since I was about fourteen years old and had my first girlfriend--it was never "experimentation" for me any more than my boyfriends were experiments. There was a longish period where I felt I maybe was more gay than bi, but bi fits me better and it is the desciptor I use for myself. I also identify strongly as a girlfag and haven't dated/had sex with a straight man since I first started dating my ex-husband in 1994--I have a strong preference for queer men. I still identify as poly even though I currently have only one partner (though
catzen remains close enough in the family that we still get doubletakes from outsiders). I am very happily married to
ptor and am also the mommy to one very cranky seven week old baby.
So, that is that.
Oh, and this user icon was taken at the dyke march in 2001.
