busy weekend
Feb. 27th, 2006 02:18 amWe had a very full weekend. Good, but full.
Friday night we made cookies and
ptor helped me convert
loracs' Gilly user pic to a drawing on a hand towel so I could embroider it for
loracs' birthday. I was somewhat successful and will post a pic of the finished product soon. Of course, I started the project way too late at night and thus was up too late. Ah well.
Saturday we dropped by Fly Girl rehearsal so I could drop off a tax form and get an insurance form signed. Hopefully I can dance again by next week. Then we went next door and had brunch at the Westside Cafe and despite some of our potatoes being a bit charred it was a good breakfast as always.
After food headed through the tube to Alameda so I could visit Needle In A Haystack and I could pick up the embroidery transfers I wanted. I got the Cat-a-Rama, Mode Mod, Gothic Grandeur (I cannot wait to embroider that scruffy rat on something!), Atomique! and Dainty Days. They didn't have everything I wanted, but I can order some more online. I also found a couple blank baby bibs and some towels, along with a bunch of floss. It is a great store. A touch pricey, but so well-oraganized and well-stocked I cannot complain. And it is independent and has a very knowledgeable staff. They had some stunning needlepoint canvases, but I don't know needlepoint too well.
On our way back south we stopped at the Oakland Ham Radio Outlet in Oakland because
ptor wanted to see that store (he usually goes to the one in Sunnyvale) and he was still looking for a diplexer. After much help from the staff he got the diplexer he needed.
So, back south home as I needed to put the finishing touches on the Gilly towel and then back north to
loracs,
dbubley and
stonebender's place for
loracs and
stonebender's birthday dinner and book organizing. We brought our cookies and kumqauts from our tree. We had a great time hanging out and visiting and
serenejournal was very sweet to make sure that there was food my belly could handle. I spent a long time sitting and working on
ptor's scarf, but when it got late enough and my belly could deal I helped organize the non-fiction. Then, much later, back home to bed.
This morning (Sunday) I got up and worked for an hour or so on the Big Moves web site then got really sick and went back to bed for many hours. Late this afternoon we took a drive to Venice Beach in Half Moon Bay. It was raining pretty hard but we got a nice shortish walk in, I took some not so great pictures, saw lots of birds and a cute cotton tail rabbit. Oh, and of course, it was very nice to see and hear the ocean. Then we went into town for some dinner which was good, though we had to take most of it home as
ptor got full quickly and my belly wasn't doing great. Then home and I passed out as I was feeling really dopey for having taken Reglan for nausea.
Busy, busy. But good.
