Well, I have been fairly busy and haven't posted since last Thursday, so here is my weekend/early week update.

Thursday
Well, I was still sick and really tired so I opted to skip dance. B. and I had an long and painful conversion that evening before I left work, but we decided that I would visit him on Friday.. Visited with [livejournal.com profile] eeyore74 that night and watched TV with her and hung out and cuddled. It was nice, depsite my pounding sinus-headache thing.

Friday
I slept a bit later than I had wished, but I finally got up and got myself to the library to do research for my thesis prospectus (I was off work as we were shutdown that day). I spent a couple of mildly-fruitful hours at the library and was again frustrated at the spottiness of the SJSU journal collections. So, I spent my last cash making photcopies of somewhat relevant articles and decided a trip to Stanford is in order.

Around 3:30 I headed up to Berkeley and was happy that I didn't hit much bad traffic at all and made it to B's before 5:30. We went out for a nice dinner of yummy Chinese food, on him, as I am still broke. We had a nice time at the restaurant and got one of our favorite tables, which is one by the big windowed-wall between the kitchen and seating area. After dinner, we went out for beers and conversation and PowerPuff Girls, which was on the TV at the brewery and was even more surreal with no sound. We had a nice time hanging out, though we didn't discuss anything relevant to "us" which was fine by me as I was tired from Thursday. When I was at his house I was happy to discover that the orchid plant I gave him last Christmas is getting ready to bloom again :-). It should be beautiful. Went home early-ish and got to bed at a reasonable hour. M. had gone out with his friends, so I didn't see him until the wee hours of the morning.

Saturday
I got up late for dance, but I at least made one of my two classes. I was still feeling not up to par health-wise, so it was probably just as well. After dance I went home and hung-out with M. and watched some cool shows on the food network. M. was very happy to watch the "Follow that Food" episode about olive oil--he loves good olive oil. I napped for a bit then went to Pacifica for a dinner party with [livejournal.com profile] eeyore74 and some of her friends. It was very nice and fun. M. and I had a lovely drive up (despite getting lost) as we got to see a beautiful sunset over the ocean. The food was yummy and wine good (though I could only have one glass due to my being not healthy). We watched The Sex Monster which M. and I had seen before but the others had not. We enojyed seeing it again and the others seemed to enjoy it as well. We left around midnight and went home and crashed. It was really nice to spend a quiet evening with friends.

Sunday
My dad came into town for lunch and to see the new documentary about Jerry Garcia and David Grisman Grateful Dawg. Dad kindly bought M. and I lunch at the Tied House and took us to the movie. I really enjoyed the movie, as did my dad and M. The movie had a very personal touch as Grisman's daughter, Gillian Grisman, did it, which is probably also why in the interviews he and Jerry seemed so relaxed. The performances she used in the movie were wonderful and the history of Garcia and Grisman which was provided was wonderful. I only cried at the very end when David Grisman's young son was discussing how sad it was to lose Jerry. I cried all the way through the performance of Friend of the Devil, which was particlarly sad as it was a Dead song. I am really glad we got to see the movie, especially as it is in such limited release.

After dad left I got really, really tired, and I rested for a while. Then M. and I went and got groceries and I blew out a tire on the highway on the way home. That really sucked. Why do things always break when I have no money to fix them??!!! The whole tire changing process was particularly odious as my trunk is full of stuff (read: crap I haven't gotten around to sorting and throwing away or keeping) and I had to empty it all out to get to the spare. The upside is that I found a bunch of stuff (non-crap) I had been missing and been looking for. When we finally got home I made a too-huge pot of yummy minestrone soup which we are still working on finsihing. I did some reading and went to bed.

Monday/Tuesday
Still not feeling well by Monday and the first draft of the prospectus was due Tuesday. I went to dance at school, then crashed for 5 hours during the day, then finally got moving on writing Monday night. I finsihed the draft at about 3 in the morning and got a few hours of sleep before I had to go to school, then work. I went to dance last night and discovered I was mighty sore from Monday. Went to bi-coffee after dance and had a lovely time with [livejournal.com profile] eeyore74, [livejournal.com profile] joedecker, [livejournal.com profile] sinboy, [livejournal.com profile] hopeforyou, and [livejournal.com profile] claireaide.

I got some sleep last night but I am still too tired and I still am having sinus issues. Bleah. I am actually fairly busy this week at work, so that is at least keeping me occupied. I still have lots of research to do for school and I am sorer today that I was yesterday. Tonight, B. will be visiting me and that should be hopefully good.

Well, I better get back to work.
