I feel like I should be working for PBS
Jan. 9th, 2003 01:30 pmOnly $40 to go...
Can I hear those phones ringing?
As I posted a couple weeks ago Big Moves is trying to scrape together enough dough to pay our deposit (a bit over $1000) on the theater we are renting for Bodies in Motion, our annual professional dance concert featuring larger dancers (more info. about Big Moves and Bodies in Motion available here andhere).
Each board member is currently responsible for rasing $125. I only need $40 more in donations to reach my goal (sadly, I don't have enough personal funds to cover this). So, have a few dollars to spare? Want to make a tax-deductible donation to a great organization? Go here to find out how to donate. We accept personal checks, credit cards (through paypal), and of course, cold hard cash.
Big, fat thanks and hugs to all who have donated to Big Moves or supported us in other ways now and in the past. I and the rest of the board, really, really appreciates it. I also completely understand if you cannot or don't wish to donate.
Oh, and if you are in the Bay Area, our annual Chocolate Tasting (fundraiser for Bodies in Motion) is coming up on Sunday, February 16th at 6pm in Berkeley. This year we will be having belly dance peformances from Fat Chance Belly Dance, San Francisco's premeire American tribal belly dance troupe, a rare PG-13 burlesque performance from Big Burlesque's own Heather MacAllister, and, of course a hip hop dance performance from Big Moves' own Phat Fly Girls. The Fly Girls are better and stronger than ever! There will also be a plus-size fashion show and trunk sale from Go Figure. So far, we have confirmed chocolate donations from Godiva, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Spun Sugar, and See's, and we expect many more. We will be serving coffee from Peet's. A minimum donation of $20 gets you in the door for all the entertainment and unlimited chocolate and coffee--Woo-hoo!!! So mark your calendars for this event.
