fire and smoke

This may have something to do with my extreme congestion, voice loss, and general feeling of crappiness.

Smoke from the fire has reportedly been seen as far north as the San Mateo Bridge and as far south as Watsonville. The plumes of smoke are having an impact on the region's air quality. Santa Clara County health officials warn that elderly and asthmatic residents living near the fire should remain inside due to the smoky air.

We can see the smoke from out house, and we are only 20 miles from the fire, way closer than the San Mateo bridge.

Ick.

Casey's been sneezing for two days. We can see the smoke, too.

There's a similar fire smoking up Los Angeles County, and it's less than 10 miles from our house, so every morning we come out to a not-so-fine layer of ash covering our cars. If the air isn't moist, we can just dust it off, but this morning the car was also covered with dew, so it became rather sludgelike.

I shudder to imaging what's happening to our lungs!
