random annoyances
Aug. 28th, 2002 01:07 pmA new employee portal was introduced on the corporate intranet today. All good and fine. However, as I opened Netscape this morning I got the following message:
Really, really unamused.
Being forced to use Microsquish products, especially IE, really pisses me off.
Grr.
You are using Netscape Navigator 4 on Windows. The COMPANY NAME Employee Portal is currently supported using the corporate standard browser, Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 5.0 or greater).
Please close Netscape Navigator 4 and access the COMPANY NAME Employee Portal using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser (version 5.0 or greater).

Date: 2002-08-28 02:35 pm (UTC)The place I used to work (now in the dotcom byte bin) didn't test their product on anything but IE because "people never use Netscape at work, anyhow." (It was designed to be primarily a worksite employee portal type of thing.) I said, "I use Netscape at work!" They responded, "Well then you shouldn't." That was that.

I've used Konquerer and Mozilla at home...I certainly think I will try this.
