catzen and I had a very nice day together yesterday. We slept in late into early afternoon and started our day by getting juice and bialys. We sat outside in downtown Willow Glen and people and dog watched while we ate our meal. Then we went to Camera One and saw "Mostly Martha" a very cool German film with plenty of food porn. We both really enjoyed the movie, but
catzen had the special treat of being able to enjoy the movie without straining to read the subtitles (he is extremely fluent in German). After the movie we went across the street to the wine bar and tried a few red wines and ate some cheese and crackers. Tasty. Then off to Trader Joe's we went to do our stock-up shopping--We finally decided to stop once our cart was full, and ended up having to use two carts to get the groceries out to he car. Yikes! Anyhow, we are now well stocked with pasta, soup, beans, pasta sauce, soy milk, cheese, cliff bars, frozen tamales, etc. for the month or two. Go us. We also discovered that TJ's is now carrying some of
Hop Kiln's wines (woo-hoo!) and they had our favorite inexpensive wine, Marty Griffin's Big Red (it is a Zinfandel/ValdiguiƩ/Cabernet Sauvignon blend) for only $8.00 a bottle!! So we picked up a couple of those and a couple of the Zinfandel.
We still have a reserve Cabarnet we bought at the winery last year that we plan to share with
klwalton and
joedecker sometime in the near future.
I had fun getting out of the house with
catzen yesterday. It was nice to get out and do something together just because.
