somewhat better
Jun. 24th, 2002 12:25 pmThe headache which started early last week persists, but it is much better than it was. I spent most of the weekend either asleep or grumpily in pain. I woke up Saturday and Sunday in serious pain and it was extremely difficult for me to haul my ass out of bed to get to my dance obligations (rehersal saturday, peformance sunday). I can't believe how much I slept this weekend. At least all the sleep seems to have helped the head pain a bit.
Last week my grandpa had some sort of hemorrhage in his eye again (he only has vision in one eye due to a diabetic stroke a few years back) and he lost all vision for a while. He can see a little bit now, but he still just has to sit and not move much at all for the next couple fo weeks. It is scary and depressing. I talked to my grandma last night and she was trying to be accepting of it all, but I am sure she is scared because he is the only one of them that drives, so if he loses his vision completely they are stuck in the house unless my sister or aunt drives them somewhere. My aunt ordered groceries for them from albertsons.com and my sister came and walked the dogs for them on saturday, so they have support, I just worry about them. I also feel bad because I don't do much to help. I live an hour away so doing things like my sister does (bringing them dinner), is not all that feasible for me. She lives a few miles from them so it is easier for her to get there and do things like that.
::sigh::
In other news, I have dress rehersal from 6:30ish until 11:00ish tonight (too long) then my shows tomorrow and wednesday night. I am excited, though a bit nervous as usual. From what I have seen, the show will be good and stronger than last year's. I still need to acquire a white hand-held fan for part of one of my costumes by this evening. Guess I will be doing some shopping on my lunch break.
Work is going smoothly and I am getting some more projects to keep me busy, so that is good. I am adjusting to working 40 hours again--it is just always difficult for me to adjust to sitting for so long during the day.
I am starting a jazz class for Big Moves in July, so I will officially be a dance teacher. Go me.
Off to lunch and shop.
