cassidyroseEn Masse, our show, is next Saturday and Sunday. We had a three and a half hour rehearsal today and have a three hour rehearsal tomorrow. Then tech and dress next week. Busy busy. We are going to Maker Fair on top of that tomorrow morning. I just need to make it through this week.
I am really, really excited about this show. I am dancing six pieces and created three of those (and am the guardian of one which was created by a guest choreographer). Everything is looking really strong and the visual impact of thirteen people dancing onstage at once is pretty amazing. I never thought we'd have a troupe this big and despite all of its challenges and growing pains I am absolutely loving it.
Right at the moment, there is not enough Aleve in the world for what's happening with my body right now (Seriously, WTF did we *do* today to make it this bad for everyone!). Also, I have decided that my podiatrist and I have a DADT relationship concerning my participation in this show. In addition to the bad case of plantar fasciitis that I had been treating, I also have a stress fracture in my right foot. Just spiffy. I am practicing a harm-reduction model with it until the show, and am dancing in the show, and then after that I will take some real time off for it to heal.
And, now, to bed.
