In an attempt to eat more and a wider variety of fruits and vegetables I signed us up for Planet Organics' subscription service. I signed up for the $25 weekly box of produce, with an even mix of fruits and vegetables. We got our first delivery yesterday which contained the following:

  • 1 Bananas (1 lbs.

  • 1 Basil (1 bunch(es))

  • 1 Bunched Spinach (1 bunch(es))

  • 1 Chard (1 bunch(es))

  • 1 Cherry Tomato (1 basket(s))

  • 1 Galia Melon (1 each)

  • 1 Haas Avocados (1 each)

  • 1 Leek (1 lbs.)

  • 3 Mango (1 each)

  • 2 Red Leaf Lettuce (1 head(s))

  • 1 Red Pepper (1 each)

  • 3 Ruby Grapefruit (1 each)

  • 1 Strawberries (1 basket(s))

It all looks wonderful and what we have eaten has proven to be wonderful. I made pasta last night and tossed it with warmed olive oil and garlic, fresh basil, halved cherry tomatoes, and mozzarella, provolone, and parmesan cheeses. It was so good. The tomatoes were incredible and just the right amount warm. I also had a salad with the fabulous red leaf lettuce we got and some baby spinach I had leftover from last week. For dessert, we shared a fruit salad made with a mango, a banana, and some strawberries. Delicious!

The chard that we got is amazing-looking and I am looking forward to cooking with it tonight or tomorrow night. I am very excited about this service and may increase the size of the box we get delievered, depending on how quickly we go through the produce.
