...I will be taking the stage at ODC for the Bodies in Motion show. I am a bit nervous but mostly excited. Dress rehersal went well last night (but not perfectly, as that would be the kiss of death) and I am feeling good about my piece and the whole show. I did discover that a 14 minute piece is long when I am dancing in all of it save for when the other soloist performs, but even then I have to sing. Yes, I am singing in this show (along with 3 other dancers), and if nothing else it should be interesting. I did discover that I need to pin all the parts of my costume to each other as otherwise my shirt rides up at certain points.

OK, that is all for now. I just have to breathe deeply and not get too nervous.

Thanks!

I am sure the show will go well. We hope to tour on a large scale someday, but the Pacific Northwest Tour is our first order of business and we hope to do that relatively soon.

At [livejournal.com profile] cassidyrose last dance performance, I asked her what to say when wishing someone luck before a dance show. I didn't feel quite comfortable telling a dancer to "break a leg!" LOL.. So, she told me that her mother always said, "Shine.." So [livejournal.com profile] cassidyrose, SHINE, baby, SHINE!

All my love

So, aha. This explains everything. I had been all shriveled into myself, skulking about so blackishly that not even the cats would come near. But this evening my mood lifted, because somewhere in the world, an achingly beautiful wombabe was dancing her heart out. I hope it was as good for you as it was for me.

::blush::

Thanks Marea.

The shows did do well. I danced well and with much heart, even if I didn't execute everything as cleanly as I would have liked. I allowed myself to be caught up in the emotion of the piece, which was a very, very good thing. I survived being on stage dancing alone and even managed to look somewhat professional doing it.

I hope things look up soon for you my dear.

Thank you. The shows went well and we even sold-out on Saturday night. I am physically wrecked from the weeks of intensive rehersals and classes, but I am hoping to recover soon. I have a hip-hop performance this weekend, and a number of performances in May, so I need to train my body to deal with this.

YAY!

So glad to hear it went well for you! Bummer 'bout the exhaustion; take it easy now -- you've really earned it!

I hope to get to see one of your performances one of these days....
