I was just bouncing around LJ and saw someone's entry about driving a Scion XB for the first time. Said person was complaining about how big it was and how it would be difficult to park because it is so big and compared it to a SUV.

Um, no.

The Scion XB (of which we are owners) is actually quite small. There is scads of head and leg room on the interior which is wonderful and a big reason why we bought the car; however, it is shorter and narrower than most small to mid-size cars on the market (to give you an example, it is shorter and narrower than the Prius, Corolla and Honda Civic, and just barely longer than a Geo Metro). I routinely lose the car in parking lots because it is not visible parked in between average sized cars and it takes up about half the parking space of a larger car. It is taller than many small cars, but that does not make it difficult to park.

It is just interesting to see how wildly size can be misperceived.
