Please come to my video party
Jan. 6th, 2002 05:58 pmIf you are in or anywhere near San Jose please, please, please come to my video party at the De Frank Center on Friday, January 18th at 7:00 pm. It is a fundraiser for Big Moves, and hey, you get to see me shaking my booty on film!
If you can't make it to this one, please come to the one in Oakland on the 10th or SF on the 20th (I will be at both). I am responsible for getting people to the San Jose party, so I really need your support.
We will be showing video of last year's Bodies in Motion concert featuring Canada's Big Dance, providing refreshments, and will have door prizes. In addition, at the San Jose and San Francisco parties we will be showing Flaunt, the documentary I am in (dancing, no less) about Big Moves.
You can read about Flaunt here.
So, please, please come out and support me, Big Moves, fat-activism, the arts, and larger dancers everywhere!!

ANY BODY CAN DANCE
Dance history was made on May 18, 2001.
Bodies in Motion, a full-length dance concert featuring professional dancers of all sizes, unfolded on stage in Oakland. Appearing for the first time in the United States was Big Dance, a modern dance company comprised of large women.
Since then, Big Dance has been featured in People Magazine and Good Morning America. They're getting requests to perform from around the world. And they're coming back to the Bay Area on April 12-13, 2002.
Can't wait until then? Get a sneak peek at these Canadian dancers who have America talking. Come to Any Body Can Dance, a series of video parties scheduled at locations throughout the greater Bay Area. These parties will give you a rare opportunity to view concert footage from last year's Bodies in Motion. And you'll have the chance to meet other folks who believe that, contrary to popular opinion, every body can dance. All proceeds benefit the production of Bodies in Motion 2002.
The Any Body Can Dance video parties and the Bodies in Motion concert series are proudly presented by Big Moves, the nation's only organization dedicated to promoting size diversity in dance.
