Peter and I spent New Year's Day poking around the shoreline of Half Moon Bay which was windy, cold, and beautiful. One of my favorite things is watching pelicans fly along the tops of waves, just as these three are doing here. Approaching sunset we had some really nice light that made both the water and sky glow in places.

Every summer our kumquat tree blossoms and for a week or two it is filled with bees feasting on its nectar. I shot this of one of our summer visitors in August of 2014.
