Photo of the day for 06/09/13

Photo of the day for yesterday: Ant Peekabo. Shot this in January of 2011 in the greenhouse at Ardenwood. We were there with the kids, during the farm's quiet time in January when the main attraction is the monarchs. The kids like to go in the greenhouse and see what is growing in there and on this day there were some flowering plants and there were ants on them. Used the 50mm fixed macro for this.

talent show

This morning S.'s class is performing a dance in the school talent show. He is sooooo excited about it. By his and his teacher's accounts he has been actually dancing when they practice which is a big step for him. He hasn't shown it to me, telling me it is a "surprise". There will be a second performance this afternoon for the parents, so I will see it then. The only thing he has divulged is, "telephone hands are hard to do fast." He was sure to tell me to have his tie-dye shirt clean as that is what they are all wearing today, and when I questioned his choice of shorts this morning (it's a bit chilly) and asked him to put on pants he said, "NO! We are supposed to wear shorts!" So, he is in shorts. I am very proud of our little guy today and cannot wait to see him dance this afternoon.
