been able to go to two classes during the week. I am loving it and it is definitely improving my mood. My body is taking a beating though.

In other news, L. had a trial at preschool yesterday. He LOVED it. When we left he said "That was fun!" Now to work on getting him enrolled. It will just be two days a week for a couple of hours and I have to work at the school one of those days, but it will be good for him. He was VERY excited and proud of himself.

Preschool is just one more step of his transition from a baby/toddler to a bigger kid. First he moved from his crib to a bed at 22 months. Then he ditched the high chair for meals and eating out around two to two and a half. The stroller was the next to got at two and half. I thought he had weaned when he went five days without nursing around New Year's, but then he remembered MIIIIIILLLLLLKKKK and there was drama and he is nursing again, though it is down to 1-2 times a day and no longer three. I hope to have him weaned, for reals, really soon. He has been potty trained since October/November. He now has swim class with just a teacher and without me in the water as he is three. He does gymnastic with a coach and not me as well. No more "Baby and Me" type things for us (well, except for preschool as I will have to work at the school one day a week for as long as he goes there). It is weird to see all these things slip away and be gone, especially since he will be our last child. No more. No more diapers, strollers, baby carriers, high chairs, cribs, etc. So we are DONE with a number of child-stages until/unless there are grandchildren we are alive to enjoy.

S. is growing up super-fast too. He makes all these super-elaborate LEGO "creations" and has whole stories about them. He reads novels, long ones. He can write paragraphs. He can add, subtract, count money....the list goes on. He can hit a baseball with a bat when I throw the ball for him. He can dribble a basketball and make baskets. He is extremely good at handling a soccer ball and can run very fast. He rides his bike very fast and skillfully. He can do 25+ yards of freestyle with proper side breathing and is just about there with proper backstroke. He is smart and funny and insightful. He adores his younger brother and his younger cousin. And Harlie. He is not longer a preschooler...he is firmly a school-aged child. He has a life at school that I don't know all that much about, but that he really enjoys.

I am busy with Big Moves/emFATic DANCE. Production season is upon us and it is going to be intense, especially with our unprecedented high number of dancers (12, including me and Matilda).

Peter needs a new job and we are working on that...fortunately he still has one, he just needs a new one. Michael just got a new job. Nothing is stable in our employment world. That's a given.

We need to get our estate planning done. And do some serious financial planning beyond what we haphazardly through into IRAs and 401Ks each year.

This spring we will get the yard fixed up. And maybe get new transition strips and doors (I HATE the doors in the house...they are ugly and some are the wrong size in various ways).

That got rambly.

Photo of the Day: In late December of 2010 we finally made it out to the Sunol Water Temple. The grounds are only open short-ish hours on weekdays so we had not managed it before. Peter had some time off of work and we all went to check it out. The temple itself is quite beautiful, as are the grounds. This photo doesn't necessarily reflect that beauty, but I thought it was interesting. I shot it while looking down into the interior of the temple, where the water rushes down. It is loud and full of echoes. Info about the water temple can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunol_Water_Temple
