So, a month after the fact,
ptor and I finally had a date for my birthday. My mom watched the kids this afternoon/evening and Peter and I went to Coyote Hills so I could try my new telephoto lens some more, then to Watercourse Way for a tub and sauna for an hour and half, then Willow Street Pizza for dinner. Awesome afternoon/evening. I had wanted to shoot butterflies with the new lens, but they were all actually too far away for me to catch any, even at 250mm. I didn't get any good bird shots either. I did, however, get some great shots of individual water drops on a spider web (along with a tick and a spider which I didn't even know were there until I downloaded the photos), with my macro lens. Watercourse Way was wonderful as always and dinner was fun and tasty. I have been going to that restaurant for almost 15 years now and Peter and I went there on our first date-thing when we were getting back together in 2003. It is special to us. Sadly, they no longer have beer on tap (WTF?), but I got a good bottled beer, nonetheless.
The kids did well with my mom, which is good.
Good day. Peter is off work tomorrow and S. is off school. Lots to do though. Lots to do.
