it never ends
Mar. 28th, 2006 03:35 pmGot a collection notice from a creditor for Sprint PCS. I've never had an account with Sprint PCS. Called the creditor. Big suprise--the account was being billed to an address in Richmond, CA where other utilities accounts have been fradulently opened in my name since I was attacked and mugged in 2003. I ordered another credit report. Found another suspicious creditor charge and called them. Suprise, it was for a MCI account with an address in Oakland which was never mine. So now I have to file fraud reports with all the creditors.
And you know what really sucks? The Oakland PD doesn't give a rats ass about this. They don't view the addresses as any sort of evidence and their excuse is that "well, they could have moved." I know the Oakland PD is seriously short-handed--they cannot handle the homicide investigations piling up, no wonder they cannot handle identity theft related to a aviolent crime. However, even though I understand, it doesn't mean it doesn't really, really piss me off.
