Today every spoon I have is being used just trying not to vomit on my desk.

Damned post-surgery infection.

I was teased by seeing the end of this being chronic by actually feeling better than I had in many, many months last week. I have faith that once I get past this post-surgery infection hurdle I will see the end of this being a chronic problem, but right now I am feeling despair at being this sick again.

I am much happier with the new U2 album "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" than I thought I would be. I am really liking two tracks in particular, "City of Blinding Lights" and "All Because of You". Wish I was able to see them on tour this time around but I didn't get tickets for the first leg (sold out in like two minutes) and they are not coming back to this area for the second leg of the tour. Ah well...I have seen them five times, but I'd still like to again.

I wonder which band/artist I have seen the most. ::ponder:: I am certain Pearl Jam and the Dead (in pre and post-Jerry incarnations) are at the top, but I am not sure which comes out on top. I'd have to think about it for a while... Actually, thinking about it I am sure I've seen the Dead the most, if I count seeing them as "The Other Ones". I saw them eight times before Jerry died and at least as many post-Jerry. I've seen Pearl Jam over ten times. Ben Harper and Blues Traveler are pretty far up there as well.

I need to start going to more shows again. Last year I only hit one, The Bridge School Benefit. Not complaining, mind you, as I saw Paul McCartney, but I'd like to get out to more shows. Of course, there haven't been quite as many shows around of late, though small local stuff like Patrick Cress' recent performance with Dandelion Dance is really great.

OK, enough about music. Back to reading about the transportation services industry.

Star Trek" icon Leonard Nimoy is focusing on large women in his second book of kinky nude photographs.
….
The 73-year-old recruited the performance troupe the Fat Bottom Revue to model for him, and he used nude works by Helmut Newton and Herb Ritts as his inspiration.
He tells Page Six of his photographic subjects, "They are interested in fat liberation. Their self-esteem is strong. They will tell you that too many people suffer because the body they live in is not the body you find in the fashion magazines."

Yup, that is the same Fat Bottom Revue that I have been a soloist and cast member in since the founder moved to SF in 2002 (although I have been on performing hiatus due to a serious foot injury in late 2003, never fear, I will be returning to my burly career!). And, no, I wasn’t part of that photo shoot ;-) but I was part of this photo essay from a couple of years ago.

Here’s a pic of some of the revue members with Mr. Nimoy himself.

Edit: Nimoy's pictures (not worksafe) can be found here
